SaRS is delighted to welcome Richard Derrett-Smith to the Safety and Reliability Society Council. Richard has previously chaired the London Branch of SaRS and will now take over co-ordination of SaRS Branches in his Council role.
Biography:
I am an experienced safety and reliability consultant with over 18 years of experience in a variety of consultancy roles serving a diverse range of safety-critical industries. The bulk of my technical experience relates to quantitative risk and safety assessment performed for a range of existing and new nuclear energy projects although have recently transferred to the aviation domain. I’m a firm believer in adopting a risk-based approach to projects and technical leadership roles and enjoy applying these principles to both technical and non-technical challenges. My involvement with SaRS supplements my other extra-curricular roles with the IMechE and CANSO (Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation).
