SaRS welcomes Obinna Ugboaja to the SaRS National Council. Obinna was elected to SaRS Council at the recent AGM on 12th November 2024.

‘EUR ING Obinna Ugboaja BSc (Hons), MSc, CEnv, CEng, FSaRS
I hold a BSc. (Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MSc in Safety Engineering, Reliability, and Risk Management. I joined the SaRS in 2008 as a member and I am now a Fellow. I also maintain professional institution memberships with the Engineering Council, FEANI, Society of Operations Engineers, and Society for the Environment. I am in the SaRS Professional Safety Engineer Competency Register for the Oil & Gas Sector. I have served in the Licensing Group, Webinar Working Group, and Membership and Grading Committee of the SaRS. I am currently serving in the Engineering Membership Committee of the SaRS.
I am a Safety Engineering consultant and have worked in the Oil and gas Sector for over 25 years. My work experience involves the safety engineering delivery of brownfield and greenfield modifications. I am passionate about developing, coaching, and mentoring young safety engineers to help them attain Chartered status.
My main areas of expertise include the following areas:
• Technical Safety Engineering
• Verification Engineering
• HSE Regulatory Compliance
• Hazard and Risk Management
I have developed a special interest in engineering entrepreneurship and a passion for helping businesses grow through internationalisation of their products or services. I provide services through my limited company which specialises in safety engineering and international business services with a common business model.
