Googling the word ‘asset’ returns many different results. Asset’s are more than just physical objects – Information, data, trademarks, knowledge, business models and indeed people are all assets.
Therefore asset management is cross sector and cross market applicable and is more than just managing assets.
This presentation includes consideration of the IAM 6-Block model and how it encompasses Reliability, Obsolescence, Safety, Environmental & Through Life support.

John Skelton. John is the APS (Asset Performance Services) Business Line Lead within BMT Defence & Security UK Ltd. He is a Chartered Marine Engineer with extensive Royal Navy/UK MoD and commercial experience. He has specialist Reliability & Maintainability knowledge and holds a Diploma in Asset Management from the IAM (Institute of Asset Management). BMT are Patrons of the IAM (Institute of Asset Management) and have Endorsed Assessor Status. John is Co-Chair of the IAM Patrons Group and a member of the Registration Board.
