Safety and Reliability is published four times a year (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter) and publishes peer reviewed papers from academia and industry on the subject of safety and reliability and related fields as follow;

Editorial Board

Alec Bounds (Editor-in-Chief), Arcadis, Cumbria

Alec Bounds is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal. His main area of expertise is in nuclear safety, having worked at Sellafield for 26 years. Since 2011, Alec has worked for Arcadis, and is now an Associate Technical Director. Alec said ‘The Safety and Reliability Journal is the place to share experience and developments in safety and risk technologies. Being a published author in a peer-reviewed journal is a definite positive to include in your CV‘. Nicola Stacey, HSE, Buxton (Special Issues)

Nicola Stacey, principal futurist in the UK Health and Safety Executive’s (HSE) Foresight Centre and HSE’s professional lead for cross cutting science, is Special Editions’ Editor of the Safety and Reliability Journal published by Taylor & Francis. The journal accepts technical and academic papers and articles concerned with risk, reliability and safety. In 2018 the Journal will publish individual papers and special themed issues. Nicola Stacey said, ‘Special issues are a great for exploring a dedicated topic in more detail and from a wide range of different perspectives and industry view-points. Richard Denning, MOD

Richard Denning, reliability expert with over 25 years year of working on cutting edge reliability problems, specialising in getting the system requirements correct, ensuring that risks to delivery are understood and mitigated, so that the user gets systems which meets their needs, joins the Safety and Reliability Journal’s editorial board as Associate Editor. The Safety and Reliability Journal is published by Taylor & Francis and publishes technical and academic papers and articles concerned with risk, reliability and safety. In 2018 the Journal will publish individual papers and special themed editions. Richard Denning said, “The benefit of the journal is that it is allowing practitioners to understand best practice from other industries (and their peers)  and apply it to their own resulting in optimised reliability and safer systems. I look forward to working with the editorial team to deliver journals which people want to read and learn from.

Chris Harrison

Chris Harrison, currently a Principal Risk Analyst at RSSB, with over 17 years’ experience in carrying out risk modelling and risk assessment for the rail and aviation sectors, joins the Safety and Reliability Journal’s editorial board as an Associate Editor. Chris Harrison said, “The SaRS journal is all about sharing knowledge and enabling others to appreciate the work that safety practitioners from a wide variety of industries has undertaken.  This supports the aims of SaRS in promoting safety and reliability learning and I’m very much looking forward to working with the editorial team to deliver these objectives and helping to publish engaging and informative papers.”
